Week 14 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

The Big Hurt is surging in the East. He won $500 and is sitting atop a logjam at $1,000 in the playoff race. OJ also had another strong showing this week, and he still has his wild card bet available….With three weeks left, Bud Fox continues to enjoy a nice lead in the North, though there’s others still within striking distance….Rick Moranis won $500 and continues to lead the way in the South. But Neon Boudeaux, Waldo Geraldo Faldo, and Karl Hungus all won $500 as well….In the West, The Beard of Zeus won his wild card bet, but he still has some work to do to get back into the mix.

Losers

For the first time all season, Boss Hardigan lost $500, opening the door for others to challenge him for the overall title and the East Division….Babe and Gordon Bombay each were just a hair off from being perfect in Week 14 and moving into playoff position or up the ranks in the North….Thine lost $500 while the rest of the South thrived, making it an uphill battle from here on out….And in the West, The People’s Champ went 0-for-4. He still has a cushion on the rest of the division, but it’s not over yet.

Week 13 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Chris B. Corey bounced back with a perfect week and is in comfortable playoff position once again. OJ also won $500 and is in possession of a wild card berth….A huge week for Bud Fox, who was perfect and increased his lead over the rest of the North to $700. Don Mattingly was flawless as well and is close to getting invited to the postseason dance….Neon Boudeaux and Waldo Geraldo Faldo won $500 and are in the thick of the playoff hunt. The Notorious ABT won his wild card bet and puts himself within striking distance with four weeks to go….Kimmy Gibbler won her wild card bet and is now just $200 off making the playoffs. Blossom Russo and Kiko Garcia both won $500 and trying to make a late-season push.

Losers

In the East, Mr. Marbles lost his wild card and it looks like the 2020 campaign might be over….Larisa Oleynik dropped $500 and now has an uphill battle if she wants to make the playoffs….The loser in the South this week was Rick Moranis, who only lost $100, but now has to hold off several franchises in the last month if he wants to win the division….And in the West, Yaz lost $500 for the third straight week.

Week 12 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

The Big Hurt makes his move, winning $500 and now clinging to a playoff spot. Also a winner was Boss Hardigan, who is treading water, but the rest of the league is drowning….Bud Fox pulled into the lead in the North, and Babe picked a great week to win $500, as he is now in playoff position….The Notorious ABT might be making a run in the South. A perfect week has him within range of the playoffs with five weeks left….And no one had a better week than The People’s Champ. He won $500 but the rest of the West plummeted. Two weeks ago, he had a $200 lead. Now he has a $2,000 lead on the rest of the pack.

Losers

Chris B. Corey made late bets and then couldn’t pick a winner. He still has a playoff spot, but he’s not as comfortable as he was a week ago….Larisa Oleynik only lost $300, but lost her share of the lead and is now in third in the North….Waldo Geraldo Faldo lost $500 and went from second to sixth in the South….And it was a massacre in the West. Six franchises lost at least $500 — Bayonnaise, Blossom Russo, Kiko Garcia, Kimmy Gibbler, The Beard of Zeus, and Yaz.

Week 11 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

In a week when most of the league suffered, Chris B. Corey hit on his wild card bet and is now in comfortable playoff position….Larisa Oleynik took over the lead in the North by way of a tiebreaker. And is there a glimmer of hope for Kenny Powers? He was the only franchise to win all of his bets in Week 11….Neon Boudeaux and Thine only won $100 each, but the rest of the South burned and the gap in the division is closing….And in the West, The People’s Champ widened his lead on the rest of the pack.

Losers

Take a deep breath, as the league collectively went -$6,000. Here’s the rundown of who went winless:

East: Judge Smails, Mr. Marbles, Patrick Bateman, T-Ferg, The Big Hurt
North: Bud Fox, Don Mattingly, Donnie Jeffcoat, Gordon Bombay, Shecky
South: Karl Farbman (and lost wild card), The Notorious ABT
West: Kiko Garcia, Luther Lavay, The Beard of Zeus, Yaz

Week 10 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

All franchises in the East split their bets, so the big winner was Boss Hardigan, who maintains a strong lead with seven weeks to go….Similar story in the North with most franchises treading water, so Bud Fox remains on top….Rick Moranis got some distance between himself and the rest of the NYC muggers that are known as the South Division….And in the West, Bayonnaise hit on his wild card bet, and Kiko Garcia won $500. Both got back to even and are not far behind in the playoff race.

Losers

Patrick Bateman didn’t lose much, but he did lose more ground on the divisional race in the East….Shecky and Donnie Jeffcoat both dropped $500 and the hole in the North Division gets deeper….Thine and Karl Farbman went winless in Week 10 as well….And The People’s Champ is seeing his West lead evaporate after a -$500 week.

Week 9 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Judge Smails hit on his wild card and is back at even money halfway through the year. He might not make a push for the East title, but he’s in the mix for the playoffs….Don Mattingly closed his North deficit, taking it from $900 to just $100 in one week’s time….A huge move for Waldo Geraldo Faldo in the South as he won his wild card bet and the rest of the division stumbled….And in the West, The People’s Champ continued to thrive with a perfect week, and Yaz kept pace with a flawless week as well.

Losers

There were many losers in Week 9, as the FMFL went a collective -$4,800, which was by far the worst week of the season. In the East, T-Ferg lost his wild card bet and dropped $1,000 for the week. Chris B. Corey and The Big Hurt also went winless….Kenny Powers missed his big bet and lost $1,000. Babe and Bud Fox lost $500 as the North division tightened up….The top four franchises in the South all lost $500. Rick Moranis and Chalky Studebaker each went 0-for-5. Thine and Karl Hungus also lost all their bets….In the West, The Beard of Zeus and Bayonnaise lost $500 and are seeing their playoff chances start to slip away.

Week 8 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Boss Hardigan continues to surge. He’s +$1,500 over the last two weeks and now has a big lead in the East….Gordon Bombay picked a good week to be perfect, as the rest of the North failed to capitalize….We have a new leader in the South. Rick Moranis has been consistent all year and now leads this crowded division….And in the West, Kimmy Gibbler went into last week $900 behind the division leader. After a +$300 week and a lot of stumbling from others, she’s just $100 off the pace.

Losers

Rough week for the East, as Chris B. Corey, Judge Smails, and Mr. Marbles lost $500….Similar struggles in the North, as Donnie Jeffcoat, Shecky, and Kenny Powers went winless and are occupying the bottom of the division….Neon Boudeaux went away from his conservative approach and picked two teams that both lost. Thine went with a conservative approach and went 0-for-4. Two different roads to the same winless destination in the South….And The People’s Champ, Yaz, and Blossom Russo all lost $500 in Week 8. The West division race has tightened as we get closer to the midpoint of the season.

Week 7 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Boss Hardigan made a huge leap in Week 7. He won $1,000 and now sits atop the East. Also of note, The Big Hurt went 4-for-4 and is getting into the playoff mix….Donnie Jeffcoat won $300 and pushed up the North standings….No one was perfect in the South this week, but Thine continued to surge and now has sole possession of first place….And in the West, Blossom Russo hit her wild card to turn around her season.

Losers

Week 7 was a nightmare for Chris B. Corey. He entered the week with a $600 lead on the rest of the pack, but now after going winless, he’s $700 behind the new division leader. Mr. Marbles lost $500 and slipped down the standings….Shecky lost a heartbreaker wild card bet on a missed extra point with 11 seconds left. Babe lost $500 and continued his roller coaster season….The Notorious ABT and Karl Farbman both went winless and dig themselves deeper into the South basement….And The People’s Champ is still in first place in the West, but in a week when most treaded water, his lead has started to shrink.

Week 6 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Chris B. Corey charges ahead in the East with a perfect week. He now holds the overall lead as well. Judge Smails has won $500 two weeks in a row, and Mr. Marbles had a flawless week, rounding out a division without any franchises in negative money after six weeks….In the North, both Babe and Larisa Oleynik won $500 and are trying to close the gap on the division lead….No one was perfect in the South this week, but Thine edged up into a tie for the division crown….And in the West, The People’s Champ now leads the rest of the pack by $1,000.

Losers

OJ only lost $300 last week, but dropped into the bottom of the hotly contested East…Both Kenny Powers and Shecky went winless and slipped back in the North….The Notorious ABT lost a three-teamer and is heading in the wrong direction….And the roller coaster ride in the West for Blossom Russo continues, as she lost $500 in Week 6.

Week 5 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Patrick Bateman surged up the East ranks with a perfect week, and Judge Smails and The Big Hurt joined him with $500 weeks….In the North, Bud Fox wasn’t perfect, but extended his lead on the rest of the pack….Thine rebounded with a wild card week, jumping back into the South race. Rick Moranis was perfect and joined the skirmish at the top as well….The People’s Champ continues to thrive, winning $500 and adding to his lead on the West. Also of note, Bayonnaise and Luther Lavay won $500 and are moving in the right direction.

Losers

It’s hard to pick a “loser” from the East, as every franchise won money in Week 5. Boss Hardigan lost his grip on the division lead, but it’s early….Gordon Bombay went winless and fell down the North standings….The Notorious ABT only lost $300, but in the hotly contested South, he has a lot of ground to make up….And in the West, Blossom Russo dropped $500 after two consecutive perfect weeks.
