Week 3 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Week 3 was mostly a dumpster fire for the league (net -$4,500 overall), so finding winners was a challenge at times….The Big Hurt remains atop the East, but he lost -$300. I guess he’s a winner right now?….T-Ferg was a shining star in Week 3, winning $500 and taking over the lead in the North. The Beard of Zeus had a strong showing as well, but a late bets fine kept him from perfection this week….In the South Division, mere survival was enough to get into the Winners section this week. Patrick Bateman lost $100, but now has a little bit of a cushion in first place….Chris B. Corey might be making his move in the West. He won $500 and rose up the standings.

Losers

Bud Fox, Face, and Abe Froman walk into a bar — and they all lose $500 and set themselves further back in the East Division….Don Mattingly suffered a setback this week, dropping $300 in the standings in what was a great opportunity to distance himself from the cellar dwellers of the North…So many losers to choose from in the South. Is it Thine who went 0-for-5 in the most conservative of plays? Is it Kimmy Gibbler, Dr. Oge, or Boss Hardigan who all lost $500? Nope. Judge Smails pulled out his wild card bet and went down in flames, losing $1,000 for the week….One week after being perfect, Mr. Marbles dropped $500 and went back down to last in the West.

Week 2 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

The Big Hurt rose to the top of the standings in the East with a solid week. He’s $500 clear of all competition….So far the North is ugly, but Gordon Bombay is out in front and could have a chance at pulling away early in the season….Thine had a huge week, winning $500 and jumping into a tie for first. Both he and fellow expansion franchise Patrick Bateman have been impressive in the early going….And The Notorious ABT continues his winning ways from last season, grinding out another week of positive dollars.

Losers

Face was perfect in Week 1, then couldn’t get a win in Week 2, so he’s back to $0….In the North, Karl Farbman and Larisa Oleynik are two peas in a pod. A loser pod. -$1,000 for the year….Kimmy Gibbler had a tough week in the South and is sitting in the cellar….And Kenny Powers went 0-for-2 in Week 2 and finds himself in a hole early in the season.

Winners and Losers: Week 1 Recap

by The Executive Director

Winners

Face took control in the East with a perfect week. He’s one of only two franchises to be perfect in Week 1….The North’s results in the first week were lackluster at best, so Don Mattingly seized the moment and jumped out to an early lead. There’s $800 between him and four other franchises….Newcomer Patrick Bateman was the biggest surprise in Week 1. He went 5-for-5 for a perfect $500 start to lead the South. It’s all downhill from here….And in the West, The Notorious ABT is out in front, continuing on last year’s successful campaign.

Losers

In the East, Abe Froman is bringing up the rear, but could easily turn things around with a solid Week 2….The North’s cellar is filled with ghosts of FMFL past: Blossom Russo, Karl Farbman, Kiko Garcia, and Larisa Oleynik all went winless in Week 1….Judge Smails got his feet wet last week but wasn’t as successful as the other expansion franchises. He joins Kimmy Gibbler in last place in the South….Mr. Marbles is another historically solid franchise off to a tough start in 2016.
