Week 15 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Chris B. Corey rode the Eagles’ improbable final second cover to a perfect week and now has a comfortable $1,100 lead on the rest of the East with two weeks to go. Also of note, Donnie Jeffcoat is making a late season run with three straight $500 weeks. He’s just $600 out of the final playoff spot….Bud Fox won $400 and is pulling away from the North. He’s up $1,400 and also still holds his wild card….Neon Boudeaux won $500 and is staying close to the top of the three man race in the South….And in the West, it’s coming down to The Beard of Zeus and Babe, who both continue to gain money. The Beard has the upper hand and his wild card bet available. It looks like one will win the West and the other should be in good shape to make the postseason with a wild card berth.

Losers

Yaz lost his wild card and likely ended his 2019 campaign. Patrick Bateman and The People’s Champ both lost $500 and slipped down the standings….T-Ferg‘s meteoric rise came to a screeching halt in Week 15, as he lost $500 and now is clinging to the final playoff spot. The Notorious ABT also went winless. He’ll have to hit on his wild card bet these last two weeks to make a postseason push….Rick Moranis dropped $500 and has an uphill climb to try to get into the playoffs. The Big Hurt’s roller coaster season seems to have come to an end with a -$500 week….And Shecky continues to ride the Browns into the depths of despair.

Winners

The franchises at the top of the East held serve, and the only major positive movement was Donnie Jeffcoat, winning $500 and perhaps getting ready for one last run….T-Ferg made a huge move in Week 13, winning $1,000 and climbing into a playoff spot. Bud Fox also grew his lead and is now up $700 on the rest of the field in the North….Thine and Neon Boudeaux stayed hot, winning $500 again this week and pushing up the first two wild card spots and closing the gap on the South Division. Boss Hardigan also bounced back with a perfect week, and Rick Moranis won $500….Babe hit his wild card bet, winning $1,000 and launching himself into a postseason spot. He’s now just $300 off the lead in the West.

Losers

Both Yaz and The People’s Champ lost $500 this week and dropped back in the playoff race. It’s notable that both still have their wild card bets available and could make a move in the final month….Kimmy Gibbler lost $1,000 and looks like her 2019 season has come to an end. Right alongside her is Blossom Russo, who lost $500….Even though he won $100 in Week 13, the loser in the South was Karl Farbman, whose lead on the rest of the division and league is shrinking with every passing week….Cellar dwellers Shecky, Dr. Oge, and Judge Smails all went winless and we can stick a fork into each of them.

No big losers in the East this week, but The People’s Champ will have to pick it up to make a playoff run….T-Ferg took a big hit with a -$500 week that set him back in the postseason battle. There were a lot of winners in Week 11, as 18 franchises won at least $500, starting in the East with Yaz, Karl Hungus, Larisa Oleynik, and Donnie Jeffcoat. Yaz put himself on the brink of a postseason bid with several others nipping at his heels…In the North, Bud Fox was perfect and took over the division lead. Week 9 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

One of the clear winners in an overall putrid Week 9 was Chris B. Corey, who was perfect and now enjoys a $700 lead on the rest of the East….The North was destroyed this week, so Kimmy Gibbler was the big winner even though she lost $100. She’s now just $200 back of the division lead….Karl Farbman‘s cushion in the South has increased, and also of note is a perfect week from Waldo Geraldo Faldo. Don’t count him out just yet….And in the West, I guess Don Mattingly was a winner? I don’t know.

Losers

The list of losers is long, so take a deep breath….In the East, Donnie Jeffcoat, Yaz, and Larisa Oleynik all lost $500 and the season is slipping away for all three….Blossom Russo and Kenny Powers both lost their wild card bets and now find themselves on the outside looking in. Bud Fox, Mr. Marbles, T-Ferg, and The Notorious ABT all lost $500 as well. If you’re keeping score, 6 of the 8 franchises in the North lost at least $500….Boss Hardigan dropped $500 and now has a large deficit in the division race. The Big Hurt showed signs of life when he was perfect last week, but is now back into his coma….And in the West, Dr. Oge lost his wild card and $1,000. Babe, Gordon Bombay, and Judge Smails also went winless.

With the way things are going overall in the league, they aren’t out of it yet….And in the West, The Beard of Zeus lost a little bit of money but still enjoys a $1,200 cushion on the rest of the division.

Losers

The People’s Champ and Donnie Jeffcoat both lost $500 this week and sank down the East standings….Ditto for Kenny Powers and Mr. Marbles who went winless and might be thinking about wild card bets sometime soon….A brutal week in the South, as Kiko Garcia, Rick Moranis, Thine, and Neon Boudeaux all lost $500. Neon’s may be worst of all, losing all five wagers on a five teamer….In the West, Gordon Bombay dropped $500, and is -$1,100 over the last three weeks. Shecky also lost $500.

There weren’t any huge negative shifts in the East this week, but we’ll highlight Yaz as just an overall “loser” from the first half of the season. There’s time to pick it up but the clock’s ticking….T-Ferg and Kenny Powers both lost -$500 in Week 7 and slipped down the standings in the North….Kiko Garcia and Waldo Geraldo Faldo both lost wild card bets on the Giants. Also of note, Neon Boudeaux and The Big Hurt lost $500 and continue to trend downward….And in the West, Babe couldn’t pick a winner for the second straight week, and Face dropped another $500.

Winners

A big shakeup in the East this week, as Chris B. Corey started the week $800 out of the lead and ends up on top of the division after a perfect week….The top of the standings remained the same in the North, but Kimmy Gibbler is charging after a $500 week….Thine went 4-for-4 on bets in Week 6 and is back into the mix in the South. The Big Hurt won his wild card bet, but hedged on his other wagers, so he climbed out of the South cellar. Congrats (I guess?)….And in the West, while the rest of the division floundered, The Beard of Zeus was perfect and takes the division lead and the overall FMFL lead after six weeks.

Losers

It was tough sledding in the East for The People’s Champ, who saw his lead evaporate quickly. Larisa Oleynik also dropped $500….Rumor has it OJ is trying to pull an elaborate prank on the rest of the FMFL by trying to lose every wager from here on out….Two-time defending champ Kiko Garcia lost $500 and continued to slip down the South standings….And it was a brutal week in the West. Gordon Bombay lost $500 and his division lead. Babe had late bets and lost everything, dropping $600. Judge Smails lost $500. And to top it off, Shecky went conservative with a five-teamer this week, but alas, he lost all five games.
