Week 3 Recap: Winners and Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

To say that there were some huge winners in Week 3 is an understatement. In the East, it started with The Big Hurt, who won his wild card bet, $1,000 and has the division lead. Also of note, Chris B. Corey won $500 and is currently in second in the division race….Rick Moranis leads the North after a perfect week, but the real winner was Kimmy Gibbler. She won her wild card bet, $1,000 and is just $100 off the lead after a slow start the first two weeks….Boss Hardigan continues to lead the South Division….The West was full of winners this week. Ron Mexico won $1,000. Shecky won $1,000. They are tied for the West Division lead. Chalky and Bayonnaise are still in the mix, and neither have used their wild card yet.

Losers

In a week when most of the franchises thrived, The People’s Champ lost $500 and a great deal of ground in the race for the East Division crown….No big losers in the North this week, but slow starts for Kenny Powers and Yaz….In the South, Gordon Bombay and OJ were feared going into the season after last year’s playoffs, but they sit in the cellar as of now….Pretty much everyone did well in the West in Week 3. There’s nothing more to say.

Week 2 Recap: Winners and Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Bud Fox won another $300 in Week 2 and is now tied for the lead in the East, while Larisa Oleynik had a big bounce back week to get out of the cellar in the division standings….Not much to be excited about for the North Division, but if there’s one winner, I guess it has to be Blossom Russo. She’s tied for the lead and only won $100 last week, but it’s getting the job done….Perfection continues through two weeks for Boss Hardigan, who is in uncharted waters at the top of the South….Bayonnaise is also perfect, save for a tardy penalty in Week 1. He’s leading the West Division, though several others are nipping at his heels.

Losers

The Beard of Zeus lost $500 and plummeted to the bottom of the East Division….Many losers to pick from in the North. T-Ferg, Kenny Powers, Kimmy Gibbler, and Yaz all lost $500….The South fared well in Week 2, save for OJ who has dropped to last place in the division. Time for a wild card bet?….Babe and Abe Froman both lost $500 and are tied for last in the West. But at least they’re in this thing together.

Week 1 Recap: Winners and Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Two former champions, Karl Farbman and The People’s Champ, started the year off on the right foot and sit atop the East Division, but several others are nipping at their heels….T-Ferg was the only perfect franchise in the North in Week 1. It’s only one week, but is this the year for one of the FMFL’s downtrodden franchises?….Boss Hardigan leads the pack in the South, with only three of the eight franchises cashing positive dollars in Week 1….Newcomer Chalky Studebaker and seasoned veteran Ron Mexico are tied for the lead in the West. Chalky is the early benefactor of his amicable split from The Big Hurt in the offseason.

Losers

Where have you gone Larisa Oleynik? Zero wins in Week 1. At one time, she was feared by all in the league….The Phoenix and Dr. Oge begin their North campaigns in the cellar, so there’s only one place to go from here….Art Schlichter went winless in the South and has an uphill battle in front of him. Early wild card bet?….Though he was perfect on his bets in Week 1, Bayonnaise was a big loser. Late bets the first week of the season? For shame.
