Week 15 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

Bud Fox has a huge week, winning $500 and taking over the lead in the East, though some challengers can still use their wild card bets. Karl Farbman kept a glimmer of hope alive with a $500 week….In the North, Gordon Bombay won his wild card bet to pull into a tie for the division lead, but he’s currently behind by percentage points. Also of note, T-Ferg picked a great time for a perfect week, and Dr. Oge is still dangerous with his wild card bet in his back pocket….In the South, Thine lost $400, but still maintains a healthy lead with only one competitor likely to challenge him….And in the West, Babe eked out $100 and maintains the division and overall leads.

Losers

The East delivered several nails in the coffins of franchises for the 2018 season. Mr. Marbles and Shecky each lost $1,000, and The Beard of Zeus lost $500….In the North, OJ lost $500 and dropped out of playoff position. He can still use his big bet and make a move. Chalky Studebaker lost $1,000. Goodnight sweet prince….Boss Hardigan was making a push in the South but reversed course with a -$500 week….And The Big Hurt pushed on his wild card bet and lost $400 for the week. He’s still in postseason position but has some work to do to secure his spot.

Week 14 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

It’s been a see-saw second half for The People’s Champ, but he found some success in Week 14 and has closed the gap in the East. Also of note, The Beard of Zeus still alive after a wild card win….Gordon Bombay stormed back, winning $500 and it looks to be a two-horse race in the North….Thine went 4-for-4 and has increased his division lead on the rest of the South. Boss Hardigan won $1,000 and is now just a tiebreaker away from the playoffs….Babe was the biggest winner of the week, going perfect and grabbing the overall lead. Kiko Garcia also won $500 to boost his playoff chances. And file this under “not dead yet”: Don Mattingly won $500.

 

Losers

Mr. Marbles had a rough week and slid down the East standings….Ditto for Chalky Studebaker, who was on the verge of challenging for a postseason berth and now has an uphill battle….Donnie Jeffcoat took a big swing with his wild card bet and missed, losing $1,000 for the week…And in the West, Chris B. Corey was tied for the division lead last week and now finds himself $1,000 back.

Week 13 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

After a down week, The People’s Champ rises back up the East standings and closes the gap….Kimmy Gibbler had a huge Week 13 and takes over the lead in the North. She’s also in a three-way tie for the overall lead….No big winners in the South this week, so we’ll give it to Thine, who has a comfortable lead on the rest of the division with four weeks to go….And in the West, Babe wins $500 and takes over the lead in the division, currently holding a slight advantage in the tiebreaker.

Losers

Shecky dropped $500 and is making the mountain to climb in the East that much tougher….Gordon Bombay didn’t crash and burn in Week 13, but he lost his grip on the North division race….Both Boss Hardigan and Neon Boudeaux lost $500 this week. They still have an outside chance at wild card berths, but the clock is ticking….And you can just about stick a fork in Don Mattingly after a -$600 week.

Week 12 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

It was an uncharacteristically strong week for the East, led by Patrick Bateman, who bounced back with a perfect week to maintain the lead in the division. Also racking up $500 were Bud Fox, Mr. Marbles, Judge Smails, and The Beard of Zeus….In the North, Larisa Oleynik and Dr. Oge both showed signs of life with perfect weeks….Speaking of signs of life, Yaz won $1,000 and still has time to make a move. Neon Boudeaux won $500 and is on the cusp of the playoff picture….And in the West, Chris B. Corey won $500 to take back over the division and the overall lead. The Big Hurt kept pace and is getting more comfortable with the idea of being a postseason franchise.

Losers

One week after a surge, The People’s Champ lost $500 and slipped back in the East. Karl Farbman also continued his slide….Gordon Bombay and OJ both lost $500 in the North. Gordon lost the overall lead and the division race is tightening up….Thine lost 4-of-5 but still maintains a stranglehold on the South. Donnie Jeffcoat, Face, and Waldo Geraldo Faldo also suffered -$500 weeks….And Kiko Garcia went winless. Last week he was $100 off the pace in the West, but now he faces a $900 deficit.

Week 11 Recap: Winners & Losers

In the East, The People’s Champ made a major move, winning $500 while the rest of the division fell apart. He’s just $200 off the lead with six weeks to go….Kimmy Gibbler inched closer to the division lead in the North with a $500 week….Boss Hardigan was perfect in Week 11 and is knocking on the door of the playoffs….And in the West, both Babe and The Big Hurt won $500, with Babe taking over the division lead. If the season ended today, they’d both be in the playoffs.

Losers

Another week, another bloodbath in the East. Patrick Bateman lost $500 yet is still in the lead for the division. Bud Fox took a big hit, losing his wild card bet. Other franchises that lost $500 include Mr. Marbles, Shecky, and The Beard of Zeus….T-Ferg lost his wild card bet in Week 11 and is on the outside looking in for the postseason. Larisa Oleynik dropped $500, too, setting her back….Donnie Jeffcoat and Yaz both went winless this week….Chris B. Corey lost $500 and the division lead in the West. Also of note, Kenny Powers lost his wild card bet and was a net =$1,000 for the week.

Week 10 Recap: Winners & Losers

Patrick Bateman takes control of the East for the moment with a positive Week 10….Blossom Russo won $500 and is making a move towards the playoff picture. Also, Larisa Oleynik won her wild card and isn’t out of it yet….Thine continues to build on his lead in the South with a +$300 week….And in the West, Bayonnaise won $500 for the third week in a row and is inching towards the plus side of zero.

Losers

Another week, another drop in the standings for Karl Farbman….Chalky Studebaker lost $500 and is back to square one with seven weeks to go in the season….No big losers in the South, so we’ll pick on Rick Moranis, whose deficit behind Thine continues to grow….And in the West, Don Mattingly still occupies the real estate at the bottom of the division.

Week 9 Recap: Winners & Losers

Winners

There were plenty of winners in Week 9 (15 franchises won $500), with the sportsbooks taking a hit as the big favorites all covered. In the East, Bud Fox was the biggest beneficiary, as his perfect week gives him the division lead. Patrick Bateman also won $500 and is right behind him. Judge Smails and Shecky also turned in perfect weeks….In the North, Gordon Bombay continues to roll, winning $500. However, six of the eight franchises in the North won $500 in Week 9. Joining Gordon was Chalky Studebaker, Dr. Oge, Kimmy Gibbler, Larisa Oleynik, and OJ…..Thine is creating some distance between himself and the rest of the South with another big week. Don’t look now but Face is alive with a perfect week as well….And in the West, Kiko Garcia closed the deficit the division lead with a $500 week. The Big Hurt and Bayonnaise also had clean cards in Week 9.

Losers

In the East, with no big losers in Week 9, The Beard of Zeus is left with the most work to do, in last place in the division but still within striking distance of the rest of the pack….Blossom Russo and T-Ferg were losers in the North, but simply because they didn’t win $500 while the rest of the division did….Yaz was the only franchise in the entire league to lose $500 this week, and he’ll need a big second half of the season to make a playoff run….And it’s hard to pick a loser in the West, but Don Mattingly is now occupying the cellar, so he seems like a logical choice.

Week 8 Recap: Winners & Losers

Mr. Marbles makes a move, winning $500 and now leads the East along with Bud Fox. Patrick Bateman also won $500, and Judge Smails rose up the standings with a winning wild card bet and a +$1,000 week….Kimmy Gibbler had a perfect week, but she’s still far behind North leader Gordon Bombay….Thine went +$1,000 and now has command of the South. Also of note, Waldo Geraldo Faldo had a flawless week….And in the West, the rich get richer, with Chris B. Corey, Kiko Garcia, Babe, and Bayonnaise all recording perfect weeks.

Losers

The downward spiral of Karl Farbman continues with another winless week. Misery loves company, and The People’s Champ also lost $500 in Week 8….No major losers in the North this week, but Chalky Studebaker slips farther and farther away from the division leader….Yaz lost $500, and Neon Boudeaux had another negative week….And The Notorious ABT had a share of the lead in the West three weeks ago, but now finds himself in a hole.

Week 7 Recap: Winners & Losers

In the East, Patrick Bateman and Shecky both had flawless weeks and are back in the divisional race. It seems as though even money might win the East….Blossom Russo won her wild card and is inching back towards positive money, while Gordon Bombay stretches his lead over the rest of the North….Thine makes another positive move with a solid week as the divisional race tightens….And Kiko Garcia won his wild card bet to pull within $300 of the first place in the West.

Losers

Another downturn for Karl Farbman and Judge Smails, with each losing $500 yet again….No big losers in the North this week, but most have some work to do if they want to catch the aforementioned Bombay….Neon Boudeaux took a big swing with his wild card bet and whiffed. However, he’s still not out of it by a long shot….And in the West, division leader Chris B. Corey lost $500 and came back to the rest of the field, as The Notorious ABT lost $500 for the second straight week.

Week 6 Recap: Winners & Losers

It’s a challenge to find a “Winner” in the East Division these days, so this week’s nominee is The People’s Champ, who lost $100 but closed the gap on the division lead….Kimmy Gibbler made her move in the North with a perfect week, and Larisa Oleynik‘s not dead yet. A $500 week gives her some hope heading into Week 7….Thine is surging in the South with a flawless Week 6….And in the West, Chris B. Corey seized control of the division with a $500 week. Also of note, The Big Hurt with a $500 week and some momentum to build on.

 

Losers

The East continues to struggle overall – Karl Farbman, Patrick Bateman, and Shecky all went winless in Week 6….Ditto for Blossom Russo, who was making a comeback after a rough start, but went -$500….Face lost $1,000 after an unsuccessful wild card bid and is now 2-for-16. Boss Hardigan and Yaz also had tough weeks….Bayonnaise lost $1,000 as well and sank to the bottom of the West. Kiko Garcia and The Notorious ABT also both lost $500, changing the divisional race for the moment.
