Week 4 Recap: Winners and Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Don Mattingly enjoyed instant dividends from a perfect week, moving up in the East standings and $100 from the division lead. Waldo Geraldo Faldo made a similar move and sits $200 behind the Donald….OJ was the only one in the North that salvaged a solid Week 4, winning $500 and getting back to even money. He’s still $1,000 back of The Phoenix….Kiko Garcia surged up in the South and sits right behind division leader Bud Fox….and in the West, there were no perfect weeks, but rookie Dr. Oge pulled into a share of the lead for the division, winning $300 for the week.

Losers

It’s hard to get any lower than Babe. The former FMFL powerhouse lost his wild card bet, dropping $1,000 for the week….Shecky, Larisa Oleynik, and The People’s Champ all lost $500 in Week 4, with the Champ sinking into an even deeper hole in the North….the defending champ Kimmy Gibbler dropped $500 too, and she’s in select company (with Chris B. Corey) at the bottom of the South standings….and Ron Mexico, Boss Hardigan and Blossom Russo loosened up the tight race in the West by falling back out of contention.

Week 3 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

Babe and Gordon Bombay made moves in the East, closing the gap for the division lead….The rich get richer in the North as The Phoenix widens his lead, winning $500 and taking the top overall spot in the FMFL this week….There wasn’t much movement in the positive direction in the South Division, with most of the franchises remaining about even, so we’ll give a shoutout to Bud Fox who is up $700 on the rest of the field…And Blossom Russo had a perfect week to jump into a tie for the lead in the West. In my opinionation, the sun is gonna surely….shine.

Losers

Art Schlichter continues to struggle and is in the basement in the East and might be thinking about using a Week 4 wild card bet….The People’s Champ was one of a few franchises to stumble in Week 3, losing $500. And the Giants won this week, so it’s clear The Champ has jumped off the Eli Manning Bandwagon….Former lacrosse pals Chris B. Corey and The Beard of Zeus have bottomed out in the South…And after what looked like a big swing of momentum for The Notorious ABT last week, he lost $500 and is currently out of contention.

Week 2 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners

The Big Hurt made big moves in the East, winning $500 and taking hold of the division lead…..in the North, newcomer Abe Froman had a perfect week and still trails for the division lead, but is right back in the mix…Bud Fox is head and shoulders above the rest in the South, now enjoying a $500 lead. Kiko Garcia jumped up $600 after winning his wild card bet on the Pats…and Ron Mexico rebounded after a mediocre Week 1 to gain a share of the West lead.

Losers

Art Schlichter and Karl Farbman continue to disappoint in the East. Each is yet to win a bet this year….OJ is in the cellar in the North and one wonders if it was the right move for him to leave the Don Mattingly franchise and go out on his own….The Beard of Zeus joins the aforementioned Art and Karl as having gone 0-for-2014….and in the West the division is thriving, save for defending division champion Teddy KGB.

Week 1 Recap: Winners & Losers

by The Executive Director

Winners: In the East, the list of winners is short, with Don Mattingly being the franchise that rose to the top of this disgusting heap. He’s at -$100, but that’s enough to grab the lead after the first session….Heading over to the North, The Phoenix, who turned around his career last season with a postseason appearance, continues his winning ways with a perfect week. More importantly, with the rest of the league struggling, he has a $1,000 lead over four of his competitors in the division….Face and Bud Fox both ended the first week with $100, which gives them both a lead on the defending champ and the rest of the pitiful South Division. There’s a lot of experience in this division and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the South produced the bulk of the wild card berths when it’s all said and done….And in the West, Rick Moranis, who in the past has enjoyed a room in the cellar of the career ranks with the likes of The Phoenix, starts off strong and builds off his 2013 campaign. Not far behind is Blossom Russo, who is looking to atone for her poor performance last year.

Losers: A poor showing by Gordon Bombay, Karl Farbman, and Art Schlichter in the East, but especially Gordon and Karl, two veterans and playoff franchises from last season. Although this is a marathon and not a sprint, Week 2 will be crucial for them…Up in the North, Abe Froman and OJ, we’ll give you a pass since you are expansion franchises. The real shame goes to Larisa Oleynik and The People’s Champ. Both have won FMFL Titles, yet both failed to register a victory in Week…With so many to in the South to choose from this week, but we’ll have to go with Chris B. Corey. A return to the league after a four year ban and this is how it starts? When Lazarus rose again, did he also experience a false start…The West Division defending champ, Teddy KGB. He was the only one in the division to go winless, and now he’ll face an uphill battle, but there are sixteen weeks to go.
